Speaker: Annette Baber
Annette Miriam Baber was born into an Orthodox Jewish family in Des Moines, Iowa, the oldest of five children. After she was grown up, married and had a son, she felt her world crumbling, feeling she was a failure as a wife and mother.
While suffering from a nervous breakdown and contemplating suicide one night forty one years ago, God sovereignly spoke to her. The next day she read the New Testament Gospels and then cried out to the Father asking who this Jesus really was. At that moment, the Lord spoke to Annette saying, "This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him." She immediately committed her life to Christ Jesus; and then miracles began to happen.
As a new Jewish Christian she asked and begged God for her family's salvation. One by one, Annette has seen her Jewish family give their lives to the Lord Jesus. She has witnessed and been an instrument of physical healings within her family as well. Since then God has carried her through deep sorrows and inexplicable joys!
Forty-four years ago she became a Catholic. She witnesses to all that 'Not only did God the Father give Himself, His Son, the Holy Spirit, the body and blood of His Son in holy communion, but the rest of His family: the mystical body of Christ, the communion of saints in heaven and on earth, and a deep devotion to the beloved mother Miriam - the very fullness of Christ in His Holy Catholic Church.
For the last thirty-five years, Annette has led charismatic prayer groups and bible studies in Illinois and Texas and has spoken at numerous conferences, Magnificat breakfasts, and other functions. She is a volunteer in nursing homes and hospitals, as well as the home bound and is a compassionate Eucharistic minister for the sick and dying.
She started and was the coordinator of the Dallas TX chapter of Magnificat; she also started and is now the coordinator of the McHenry IL chapter of the Rockford IL Diocese for the past ten years.
Her favorite scripture: "This is my beloved Son. Listen to Him." Luke 9:35
