Speaker: Bobbi Bankovich

Bobbi’s story is all about God’s gifts to her.  She has grown to recognize, in particular, those blessings straight from the heart of God the Father.  Her most treasured gift? The Sacrament of Baptism! –reborn as Barbara Jo, daughter of our God Most High.  Bobbi was raised in Canton, Ohio,  the fourth of eight children to Jim and Phyllis Sheil, a family of love for which she gives thanks and praise to God.

From her earliest memories, Bobbi desired to be a wife and mommy –to ten children! Her little heart began praying for her first child to come to her at the tender age of nine. (The pertinent biology still being unknown to her.)  This yearning factors into her life story of learning to Trust in the Lord for all things.  Proverbs 3:4,5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; on your own intelligence rely not.  In all your ways be mindful of Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

At age 26, God gifted Bobbi with her husband Paul, love of her life and truest friend –a gift He would re-present to her eight years later.  They were married at St. Joseph’s Church, where Bobbi had received all of her sacraments, and was blessed to walk that long aisle in her mother’s wedding dress. This cradle Catholic seemed all set for the Hallmark version of happily-ever-after, but there were challenges just around the corner that threatened her dreams, as well as her Catholic roots –infertility, brain tumor, and false doctrines.
Bobbi has humbly learned to seek Truth and see everything as “gift” –both blessings and trials. She prays each day for the zeal to never forget, “We are truly His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to lead the life of good deeds which God prepared for us in advance.” Eph 2-10

Bobbi encourages us all to pray, to listen to the Lord’s promptings, and to celebrate the daily invitations to walk with Him.
